How to Apply for a Visa for the Republic of Suriname
In case one is in the possession of a valid UK, USA or Schengen visa, or has earlier travelled to Suriname, a business or tourist single entry visa for Suriname will be granted with in 2 to 3 Days from the date of the submission of application. if note than Embassy will refer the case & it will take 6 to 8 weeks.

If the above requirement has not been met, please have one’s counterpart or host apply for the visa at the Consular Section, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Henck Arronstraat 23-25, Paramaribo, with the applicant’s passport copy and other relevant documents.

Applications can also be made at the Embassy. In that case the process time may take longer, as they will have to be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Suriname for approval. An administration fee amounting to Rs 1000/- will be charged in this case.

Transit Visa applications are invariably submitted to the Embassy, which are forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Suriname. ION OF

Business Visa

  • Visa is required for all Indian Nationals. The types of visa you need depend on your purpose of travel. Unless specifically noted, all applicants follow the same applications process. The visa and the MKV forms can be downloaded.Applications have to be submitted at the Embassy of Suriname in New Delh, Vasant Vihari, A15/27,  Ground Floor. An administration fee of USD10,- will be charged.
    Documents required for visa application:

    • A completed application form with two recent and good quality passport size photographs.
    • Complete copy of  the passport
    • Itinerary of the applicant
    • A travel Insurance Policy.
    • A health certificate from an authorized hospital/doctor stating that the applicant is not suffering from the following diseases:
      • HIV-AIDS
      • Leprosy
      • Venereal Diseases
      • Tuberculosis
      • Hepatitis B
      • And other contagious diseases
      • Yellow Fever Vaccine
    • Yellow Fever Vaccine booklet

    Internship or voluntary work, etc. (period: maximum 90 days)
    Supporting documents needed.
    – Copy of flight ticket (v.v.)
    – Official letter of the authorized institution/organization confirming the purpose and period of stay in Suriname (issued on official letter-headed paper or stationery of the institution/organization).

    Business Visa
    Supporting documents needed:
    – a copy of registration with the Chamber of Commerce
    – an official invitational letter of the business partner in Suriname or official letter of the company of representation
    a copy of the flight ticket

    For children below 18 years of age:
    The additional documents are required to support the visa application of a minor:

    • Birth Certificate showing the names of both parents;
    • Photocopy of legal documents pertaining to custody, where, when, if applicable;
    • Legalized letter of consent:
      • If the child is travelling with one parent, the letter of consent authorizing travel must be legalized by the other parent;
      • If the child is travelling alone or without either parent, a notarized letter of consent from both parents permitting travel;
    • Death Certificate, in case one or both parents are deceased.

    Documents such as birth certificate, marital status and death certificate should be obtained at the municipal centre in the residing state/region. Affidavits will not be accepted.

    Passports must be submitted after the approval of the Embassy. Approval is communicated to the applicant through phone call or email. For a fast and effective handling it is mandatory to mention the phone number and email address on the application form.

    Visa Charges (equivalent in INR)

    • Administration fee           – USD10
    •  Transit visa                       – USD15
    • Tourist visa                        – USD45
    • Tourist Card                       – USD35 (From 1st March, 2016)
    • Business visa                      – USD60
    • Diplomatic and Official visa are free of charge.

    Special Category Visa  (Permit for Temporary Stay -MKV)

    • Administration fee          – USD20
    • KV (Temporary Stay)      – USD45
